Yaounde Regional Conference

Yaounde Regional Conference - November 29-30

Yaounde - the capital of Cameroon - is one amongst 41 cities around the world selected by the Universal House of Justice, at this mid-point of the Five Year Plan, "to celebrate the feats already achieved during the Plan [as well] as to deliberate on its current exigencies". Here's an excerpt from the report on this conference: "Some 1,200 participants gathered at the Cameroon National Bahá’í Center for the Yaounde regional conference, 29-30 November. In addition to the hundreds who had come from across Cameroon, there were 90 from Chad, 45 from Congo, 18 from Equatorial Guinea, 20 from Gabon, and 10 from Sao Tome and Principe. A high percentage of those attending were youth, ages 12 to 22." Please click here to see more pictures and read the rest of the report, and others.

On the row with Sahar's parents, Kamran and Fariba Frooghi, my mom and dad are sitting right after them. Click on the picture to see a larger version.

Sahar says that the lady in green is the wife of the Fon of Baba! Behind, the man with a baby is Ibrahim Nyambi. He was an ABM in Ndop for a long time and had once served at the BWC.Towards the back, the lady in purple looking back is dear Auntie Lucy from Bamenda.

So many familiar faces! I can see Mr. Chongwain wearing a Bamenda tribal cap, with Jackson from Yaounde sitting right next to him on the left.
The Persian lady looking back is Auntie Manal Gillett.
