Naw-Ruz - March 2009

Naw-Ruz - We celebrated it on Friday, March 20th at our Springdale Baha'i Center.

A Feast of Hospitality and rejoicing, is what Shoghi Effendi calls it. It comes after our Fasting period.

This sacred day, when the sun illumines equally, is called the equinox, and the equinox is the symbol of the Manifestation of God. The Sun of Truth rises on the horizon of Divine Mercy and sends forth its rays. This day is consecrated to commemorate it..." (Compilations, Lights of Guidance, p. 301)

The kids are having fun.
Aaron was taking pictures, which explains why he doesn't feature in any of them.
This guest (on the right) was moved by the singing.
The Marshallese friends, who make up a huge part of our community, are always a delight to be around. They are also marvelous cooks.

Later on, Aaron and I went to an African friend's home for a BBQ party. We all had a great time.

Adeline and Henry love to dance!
These friends are all from Cameroon
A friend's fruit dish gift on his birthday. Isn't that absolutely beautiful? I couldn't resist taking a picture. The cantaloupe was so delicious!
